Health & Wellbeing
We have strong beliefs in the benefits that can be achieved through non-medical, therapeutic interventions designed to improve the overall quality to life of our residents. These interventions include exercise, movement, remedial therapies, music and reminiscence therapy.
Through the use of activities that promote the release of feel good hormones, relaxation, positive energy release as well as the many physical benefits that include improved gait pattern, coordination, balance, strength and mobility – all vital in reducing falls risks, risk of bone breakages, and other potential accidents that can be traumatic and even fatal. Our health and wellbeing activities team focus group activities and 1 to 1 support. We also have local performers who attend Thornton Manor to entertain our residents and a travelling pantomime in the summer and at Christmas. We love to get to know all about our residents to tailor activities.
Over the next few years, we are re-cultivating disused farmland at the back of the property to open out this area for the benefit of our residents. Plans include and a wildflower bed, raised planters with herbs, vegetables and flowers and a memorial garden.
